Marta Jarabo

Her practice takes place between architecture, design, research, ethnography and art from a conceptual or pragmatical approach in a continuous effort to better understand the cultural practices around the construction of processes such as identity, community and space. She received a Master of Architecture Degree from Superior Technical School of Architecture of Madrid and during several years worked as architect and artist in different countries which allowed her training in many kinds of scales, programs and frameworks.

Her work, individually or in collaboration, has been exhibited nationally and internationally in the Spanish Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Matadero Madrid, in Plovdiv European Capital of Culture 2019, Russian Museum of Ethnography at Saint Petersburg and art galleries such as Sala de Arte Joven in Madrid or 2b Space gallery in Madrid, among others. In relation to architecture, she has received the first prize of the I Academic Competition of Case Studies of the RED PHI Spain, the first prize of the Konecta Foundation for Social Architecture in its third edition and the first prize of the Government of Erguna for the construction of the Interpretation Center of Erguna Wetlands, in China.

Currently she combines her practice with teaching at Architecture Virginia University and running the artist residency La Gascona.

Founded and led by principal architect Marta Jarabo, the studio has delivered a diverse range of architectural, research and art projects, each shaped by a commitment to thoughtful, functional, and sustainable design. Although operating independently, the practice thrives on collaboration, working closely with a trusted network of engineers, interior designers, and specialized consultants to provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary solutions.
